WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

imageUpgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade items their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item level upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item upgrade at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item level upgrade and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will be less expensive, even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for gear of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade items pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
