WoW Upgrades - The
Item UpgraderUpgrades will give you a an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item level upgrade (
you can try here) by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an
item upgrader kit has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies even if those items are from an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific
item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
