World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrade allows players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This boosts the power of the equipment, and also sometimes adding buffs or the rerolling of an affix.
It is important to remember that while you can upgrade magic and common equipment, it's generally not worth it. Rare and exclusive equipment will quickly surpass modernized equipment and magic.
Cost
The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item varies based on the current level of the item and the type of upgrade. For instance upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor, as weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required for upgrading an item increases as the item is upgraded.
An upgraded
item upgrading will also come with increased stats, which could boost its performance in various ways. This could include increasing the power of its attack critical strike chance, or damage per second. An upgraded item may also add additional benefits to the unit it's equipped with. These upgrades can be used for a number of reasons such as to increase the overall power of a particular or group unit. They also can be a significant influence on the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded by any NPC who is an upgrader in the game. Typically NPCs can be found in major cities or questing spots. Players can also find item upgraders in dungeons that have high-level bosses, and by talking to NPCs in their garrisons for their faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to upgrade the level of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is similar to the gear reforging process in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However, instead of using currency, players need to visit an upgrader for their item to complete the process.
Upgrades can be expensive particularly for weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade path each step up in item level can cost several Valorstones and crests. The total cost can be very prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or are unwilling to grind them.
The game allows players to reroll a upgraded item using a special tool from the menu of items. This option allows you to replace the upgraded item with a level 1 version that has different bonuses. This can be useful to get better rolls on items that have already been upgraded, but could be a waste of time and resources.
Requirements
The process of upgrading items that are equippable such as weapons, armor and trinkets is to raise the level of the item. This can boost their power, making them more powerful in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by spending the appropriate currency at a NPC who sells upgrades for items. However, players should be aware that certain upgrades require special requirements.
The initial upgrades only boost the stats of the base item by one level, however later upgrades give more substantial increases. Upgrades from levels 3 to 6 will increase the weapon's damage by two levels. In addition the upgraded item will receive bonus stats, which is based on its tier. The bonus is a combination of a guaranteed additional substat and a random stat that will vary in value from upgrade to upgrade.
Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item which has been upgraded. The new item comes with distinct set of bonuses, and is of a lower
Item Upgrader Kit level. The rerolled item also has different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to know that the item rerolled will not be able to maintain its strength or have any of its wasted resources.
Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the original item was Unique, Rare or Epic. Extraordinary items can also be rerolled, however the original stats are replaced by an uncapped bonus. Rerolling a Rare item will result in a normal version of the same type, whereas rerolling an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same kind.
Upgraded items may have additional modifications that can enhance their performance and boost their stats. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade cost. They can be acquired by the questing process, purchasing them from the Trading Post or from other players. They can also be earned by completing certain tasks in the game.
To upgrade a piece equipment, you must visit the NPC [Armoror Boboko located in Central Flarine. You will need Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 can be dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 is dropped by Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.
Time
Upgrades to items are a method to boost your gear and ship stats without needing to level them up. While it's not inexpensive, it's a good way to improve your stats without having spend as much time in battle. It is important to understand the costs and benefits before making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade boosts the stats of the item by in a specific amount, and gives a chance to get an additional substat. The random substat could range from a small boost to a massive boost. Focus on the items that work best in the slot first. They will give you a greater return for your investment.
You can view the time required to complete an upgrade if you open your inventory and select an item such as a ship, weapon or other accessory. The upgrade window will show the expected completion time and progress. In some cases you may be able speed up the
upgrade item process by applying an Glyph.
Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage offer a salvage kit that permits you to retrieve all or a portion upgrade components. This does not apply to legendary equipment or upgrades that can only be retrieved using an upgrade extractor or returning the item to the Karma dealer.
Take advantage of the benefits
Item upgrading rewards players with a number of items and currencies. In addition, every upgrade is able to provide a random extra stat bonus. The amount of bonus value varies between upgrades, and is typically higher for rare items. Players can conduct the Great Vault search to see whether an item is upgradeable prior to spending tickets. The search will also reveal whether the item is of a certain tier and if the player would benefit from an upgrade.
During the upgrade process, the item will slowly move closer to the next level but not always reach the full upgrade bar. This process consumes Growthstones and Sollant however there is a ten percent chance to achieve a fully upgraded item with only one cycle of growth. The more levels that an item gains, the higher its stat value will be, and the more items that can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be integrated into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an attribute benefit or an additional effect when the equipment is being used. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Players can also recover upgraded items by using an upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs, which are stored in gathering tools, can be freely swapped out without restrictions.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button that has an arrow that rerolls, a player can reroll it into another upgradeable item. This will change the layout of the item's window and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled can be exchanged for a level 1 item similar to it. Rerolled items will not retain their level, or the resources used to upgrade it.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by its tier and quality. Rare items can be upgraded up to an maximum of level six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine.
