Components

Organic components, for instance, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. You should upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
Each item has a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they can receive. The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl reduction percentage. For example an upgrade of 8% can reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 88%.

A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command more than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other armor pieces, such as circlets and Tiaras.
