WoW Upgrades - The
Item UpgraderUpgrades will give you a boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the
item Level Upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to
upgrade item their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar
Best item upgrade will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an
upgrade item has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with an The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the
item level upgrade and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. After a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if the items come from another set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
