Item upgrades are a key part of gearing up your character. Upgrades boost the base damage and enchantments of items.

They also provide bonuses and enhancements. The Blacksmith can sell them to you.

Players can recycle any item by pressing the upgrade button on it. Every item upgrader kit recycled adds a level to the gauge of upgrade.

Weapons

When a weapon is upgraded, it gets an initial damage bonus as well as an adjustment factor that affects other stats. Certain upgrade components have cosmetic effects, while others offer additional benefits. These upgrades can be slotted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. Most require the equipment to have an upgrade slot that is available and meet certain specifications. Once the weapon is at maximum upgrade, it can be reforged using a variety of different upgrade types to boost specific stats or add other bonuses and effects. Several of these upgrades can be used simultaneously, and the effects vary depending on the nature of the weapon.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. The upgrade materials are both different: Smithing Stones to modify the type of damage that weapon does and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the standard weapons.

It is generally advised to improve weapon damage first, then armour defense, and then the other secondary stats as required by your build. It is not uncommon to see melee Druids upgrade their weapons before upgrading any other gear. This will increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments that boost a weapon's stats and damage.

Armor

Item Upgrades allow players to enhance the base stats of certain armor pieces trinkets, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades may also provide additional effects, such as more damage or an enhancement to the appearance of. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, buying from NPC vendors, loot drop or as quest rewards.

The upgrade of armor can be done by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. Most of the time, a piece of armor can be upgraded to the next level once an upgrade is applied. When you have a trinket that needs to be upgraded put it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will affect the trinket that is random and will either increase or strengthen its effects. You can reforge a Trinket for as many times as you want, though it will always have an effect that is different from the one it was when you forged it.

You can upgrade items your Trinkets in the Alchemy Station by placing them into the Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy and increase the trinket's power by a small amount.
