WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher
item upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

item upgrade's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.
Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. Crests

These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to
upgrade items their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
