WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar
item upgrade will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through
Best item upgrader upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an
Item Upgrade is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific level upgrades for items. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an
item upgrade upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests only have one usage and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
