Path of Exile
item upgrader mod Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the
item upgrader mod they're attached to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a specialist or higher salvage kit to salvage upgrade components from items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase as it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. But, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to be heavier than it was before.
There are a few different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an
item upgrade can get is indicated by the name of the upgrade, as shown in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire based on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to improve your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive but is readily available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level can increase its defense values. However, it can also reduce the speed and agility of the piece. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces above +9, since the defensive boost gained is typically not worth the additional weight and power cost of the improvements required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain firearms have upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of bosses or monsters, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum
item upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. You're better off buying gear that has minimal upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a better chance of giving you the most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.
The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they most often use to help them level up faster. In addition players, they should think about upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be made through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ according to the tier that the jewel is at when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons or equipment.
All levels of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a high enough level to qualify for these. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without damaging the original. However it is only possible to replace a jewel in an
item upgrader kit of equipment only once.
It is typical to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. Jewels also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped freely however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be exchanged and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that offer many small but useful advantages to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by doing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets a player unlocks will be the cloak, which grants a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and evasion. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment, however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional bonuses and abilities that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective while inactive, and can also help make up for a lack of a strong team or any slots from the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's best stats.
