WoW Upgrades - The
item level upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to
upgrade item will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays an image of the
item upgrader kit at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a specific
item level upgrade level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even if they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one usage and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the
Best item upgrader equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
