It is recommended to use an air-tight cover for your chiminea whenever it is not in use particularly in rainy weather or over night. A cover reduces the risk of exposure to moisture and rain to the chiminea and can cause cracks over time. A breathable cover permits air circulation, which stops condensation from accumulating and damaging the chiminea.
